In winter climates, some hangar operators have asked whether snow chains on aircraft tugs could damage ILDFA flooring.
To find out, we conducted a test using a hydraulic press to simulate 15 tons of pressure, nearly double the typical ground pressure of a tug, over a simulated tire chain setup.
The result: only minor surface scratches. No structural damage. This confirms that ILDFA can handle snow chains without compromising performance.
