DESIGN GUIDELINE 7.0 RELEASED

Safespill has released a new version of the Design Guideline, the most comprehensive update to date.

The document provides engineering guidance for architects and engineers in the early design stages of new or retrofit hangar projects.

Its purpose is to help teams specify an ILDFA system correctly and efficiently, ensuring compliance with NFPA 409, FM 7-93, and UFC 4-211-01 without requiring detailed manufacturer input at preliminary stages.

• Revised containment and drainage chapter with expanded options, including hybrid and above-ground configurations
• Updated trench design introducing aluminum trenches used as formwork in concrete construction
• Clarified control system layout and junction box configuration for multi-zone installations
• New in-slab heating compatibility section confirming full integration with radiant floor systems
• Improved structural and slip-resistance data based on new testing
• Updated alignment with UFC 4-211-01 (Change 4, 2025) and NFPA 409 (2026 Edition)
