Safespill is pleased to announce the hiring of Isaac Aboulafia, P.E. as the company’s new Director of Projects. With 30+ years of professional experience in civil and environmental engineering, Aboulafia brings a wealth of expertise in project execution, customer service, and technical leadership. In his new role, he will oversee the seamless installation of Safespill’s cutting-edge solutions, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Aboulafia’s passion for environmental protection was cemented decades ago while leading remediation efforts at military bases, industrial complexes, and commercial installations. Tasked with quantifying and remediating a wide variety of contaminants including PFAS, he saw firsthand the serious health and safety risks posed by spills of hazardous materials. Now, he gets to take on a more environmentally proactive role: preventing those spills before they happen.
“It’s exciting to join a company where every team member is an A-player,” says Aboulafia. “Safespill isn’t just another job, it’s a team where everyone is personally devoted to the mission. The combination of entrepreneurial spirit, winning culture, and a truly innovative product made joining the company an easy decision for me. I’m eager to contribute my expertise to help drive Safespill’s growth.”
Over the years, Aboulafia worked at every level as an engineer, from project manager to co-owner, and led large-scale projects across Brazil, Canada, Italy, Japan, and Mexico. His global experience, combined with his hands-on approach to leadership, makes him a natural fit for Safespill’s expanding operations.
“At Safespill, we strive to improve each day by identifying challenges and solving them,” says Tristan Mackintosh, CEO of Safespill. “That’s where Isaac plays a critical role. Every installation is unique, and his deep experience allows us to proactively anticipate and address issues so our customers get the long-term reliability they expect from their ILDFA system.”
“No matter the project, my goal is always to have an unrelenting quest for excellence,” adds Aboulafia. “It’s something you can never fully achieve, but the pursuit of excellence is what leads to progress.”
Aboulafia’s arrival reinforces Safespill’s commitment to excellence in project execution. His leadership will help drive continued innovation and expansion as the company works to redefine fire protection and environmental safety.
