Aluminum Tariffs Will Have Minimal Impact on ILDFA Pricing

Although a tariff on aluminum would increase the cost of raw materials by 25%, Safespill only projects a 2.5% increase in ILDFA pricing.

Safespill floors are almost entirely made of aluminum alloy extrusions, which would be subject to the 25% tariff. However, the total cost of a Safespill project is primarily driven by non-tariff factors like extrusion, machining, assembling, installation, engineering, and project management. The system is also incomplete without pumps, containment tanks, and control panels which are not subject to tariffs.

With imported extrusions restricted, it’s expected that US extruders will also raise prices. Safespill’s new extrusion line arrives at a critical time, reducing our dependence on external extruders and allowing us to control pricing. The extrusion line is slated to begin production later in Q1; check out our recent blog article or watch our latest video below to see our progress.
