A hangar floor takes constant load. Aircraft, tugs, and ground support equipment run across it every day.
Some tug operators use tire chains and asked whether the chains could damage ILDFA flooring. We tested it. Using a hydraulic press, we applied a 15-ton load over a simulated tire-chain contact. That's nearly double the ground pressure of a typical tug.
The result was minor surface scratches and no structural damage. The floor held its function.
Fire protection shouldn't add limits to daily operations. ILDFA is engineered to serve as the hangar floor and hold up to the equipment that runs on it.
